Section 1035 of the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019 ( Public Law 115–232 ; 132 Stat. 1954), as most recently amended by section 1032 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022 ( Public Law 117–81 ; 135 Stat. 1901), is further amended— by striking December 31, 2022 and inserting December 31, 2023 ; by redesignating paragraphs
(1)through
(4)as paragraphs
(2)through (5), respectively; and by inserting before paragraph (2), as so redesignated, the following new paragraph: Afghanistan. .
