The President may terminate the sanctions imposed under this title based on a determination under section 802, after determining and certifying to the appropriate committees of Congress that the Government of the People’s Republic of China— has verifiably ceased the activities described in section 802(a) with respect to operations against Taiwan; and to the extent applicable, has entered into an agreed settlement with a legitimate democratic Government of Taiwan.
