In carrying out the project for ecosystem restoration, South Fork of the South Branch of the Chicago River, Bubbly Creek, Illinois, authorized by section 401(5) of the Water Resources Development Act of 2020 (134 Stat. 2740), the Secretary shall coordinate to the maximum extent practicable with the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, State environmental agencies, and regional coordinating bodies responsible for the remediation of toxics. Nothing in this section extends liability to the Secretary for any remediation of toxics present at the project site referred to in subsection
(a)prior to the date of authorization of that project.
