Section 501 of the Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965 ( 42 U.S.C. 3191 ) is amended by striking Assistant Secretary each place it appears and inserting Under Secretary . The individual serving as the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development on the day before the date of enactment of this Act shall be deemed to have been confirmed as the Under Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development. Any reference in a law, map, regulation, document, paper, or other record of the United States to the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development shall be deemed to be a reference to the Under Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development.
