Section 4309 of the America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018 ( 43 U.S.C. 377b note; Public Law 115–270 ) is amended— in the section heading, by inserting before dams and ; dikes in subsection (a), by striking effective beginning on the date of enactment of this section, the Federal share of the operations and maintenance costs of a dike described in subsection
(b)and inserting the Federal share of the dam safety modifications costs of a dike described in subsection
(c); by redesignating subsection
(b)as subsection (c); by inserting after subsection
(a)the following: Notwithstanding any other provision of law (including regulations), effective during the 10-year period beginning on the date of enactment of this Act, the Federal share of the costs to repair or replace a gate and any ancillary gate components of a dam described in subsection
(c)shall be 100 percent. ; and in subsection
(c)(as so redesignated)— in the subsection heading, by inserting before dams and ; dikes in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by striking A dike referred to in subsection
(a)is a and inserting A dam or dike referred to in subsections
(a)and
(b)is a dam or ; and in paragraph (2), by striking December 31, 1945 and inserting December 31, 1948 .
