Not later than 120 days after the date of enactment of this Act, the Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency shall assign not less than 1 cybersecurity professional employed by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to be the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency advisor to the Chief Information Officer of each agency. Each advisor assigned under subsection
(a)shall have knowledge of— cybersecurity threats facing agencies, including any specific threats to the assigned agency; performing risk assessments of agency systems; and other Federal cybersecurity initiatives. The duties of each advisor assigned under subsection
(a)shall include— providing ongoing assistance and advice, as requested, to the agency Chief Information Officer; serving as an incident response point of contact between the assigned agency and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency; and familiarizing themselves with agency systems, processes, and procedures to better facilitate support to the agency in responding to incidents. An advisor assigned under subsection
(a)shall not be a contractor. One individual advisor made be assigned to multiple agency Chief Information Officers under subsection (a).
