Sec. 847. Plan and report on reduction of reliance on services, supplies, or materials from covered countries

The Secretary of Defense, in consultation with the Secretary of State, shall develop and implement a plan to— reduce the reliance of the United States on services, supplies, or materials obtained from sources located in geographic areas controlled by covered countries; and mitigate the risks to national security and the defense supply chain arising from the reliance of the United States on such sources for services, supplies, or materials to meet critical defense requirements.
Not later than two years after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report describing the plan required under subsection (a). In this section, the term covered country means North Korea, China, Russia, and Iran.
