Sec. 322. Pilot program to test new software to track emissions at certain military installations

The Secretary of Defense may conduct a pilot program (to be known as the Installations Emissions Tracking Program ) to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of software and emerging technologies and methodologies to track real-time emissions from military installations and installation assets. The goals of the Installations Emissions Tracking Program shall be— to evaluate the capabilities of software and emerging technologies and methodologies to effectively track emissions in real time; and to reduce energy costs and increase efficiencies.
If the Secretary conducts the Installations Emissions Tracking Program, the Secretary shall select, for purposes of the Program, four major military installations located in different geographical regions of the United States.
