Sec. 1670. Update of study on discrimination capabilities of the ballistic missile defense system

The Secretary of Defense shall enter into an arrangement with the private scientific advisory group known as JASON under which JASON shall carry out an update to the study conducted pursuant to section 237 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2010 ( Public Law 111–84 ; 123 Stat. 2236) on the discrimination capabilities and limitations of the missile defense system of the United States, including such discrimination capabilities that exist or are planned as of the date of the update.
Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report containing the study. The report under subsection
(b)may be submitted in classified form, but shall contain an unclassified summary.
