Section 801(e) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2014 ( 10 U.S.C. 2514 note) is amended— by redesignating subsection
(e)as subsection (f); by striking subsection
(d)and inserting the following new subsections: The Secretary of Defense shall develop and implement a plan to collect and analyze data on the use of authority under this section for the purposes of— developing and sharing best practices; and providing information to the Secretary of Defense and Congress on the use of authority under this section and related policy issues. The Secretary of Defense shall submit a report to the congressional defense committees on the activities carried out under this section not later than December 31, 2025. ; and in subsection
(f)(as so redesignated), by striking December 31, 2021 and inserting December 31, 2026 .
