Not later than April 1, 2022, the Secretary of Defense, in consultation with the Chief of the National Guard Bureau and the Director of the Air National Guard, shall complete a study on the feasibility and advisability of establishing at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam an aeromedical squadron of the Air National Guard in Hawaii to support the aeromedical mission needs of the United States Indo-Pacific Command. The study under subsection
(a)shall assess the following: The manpower required for the establishment of an aeromedical squadron of the Air National Guard in Hawaii as specified in subsection (a). The overall cost of such establishment. The length of time required for such establishment. The mission requirements for such establishment. Such other matters as may be determined relevant by the Secretary. Not later than April 1, 2022, the Secretary shall provide to the Committees on Armed Services of the House of Representatives and the Senate a briefing on the findings of the feasibility and advisability study under subsection (a), including with respect to each element specified in subsection (b).
