Sec. 2814. Required investments in improving military unaccompanied housing

Of the total amount authorized to be appropriated by the National Defense Authorization Act for a covered fiscal year for Facilities Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization activities of a military department, the Secretary of that military department shall reserve an amount equal to five percent of the estimated replacement cost of the total inventory of unaccompanied housing under the jurisdiction of that Secretary for the purpose of carrying out projects for the improvement of military unaccompanied housing.
In this section: The term military unaccompanied housing means military housing intended to be occupied by members of the Armed Forces serving a tour of duty unaccompanied by dependents. The term replacement cost , with respect to military unaccompanied housing, means the amount that would be required to replace the remaining service potential of that military unaccompanied housing. The requirement in subsection
(a)shall apply for fiscal years 2022 through 2026.
