Section 9002(13) of the Water Resources Development Act of 2007 ( 33 U.S.C. 3301(13) ) is amended— by striking The term and inserting the following: The term ; by inserting , increase resiliency to extreme weather events, after flood risk ; and by adding at the end the following: The term rehabilitation includes improvements to a levee in conjunction with any repair, replacement, reconstruction, or reconfiguration. . Section 9005(g)(2)(E)(i) of the Water Resources Development Act of 2007 ( 33 U.S.C. 3303a(g)(2)(E)(i) ) is amended by striking 2023 and inserting 2028 .
Section 9005(h) of the Water Resources Development Act of 2007 ( 33 U.S.C. 3303a(h) ) is amended— in paragraph (1), by inserting and levee rehabilitation after mitigation ; in paragraph (7), by striking $10,000,000 and inserting $25,000,000 ; and by adding at the end the following: To the maximum extent practicable, the Secretary shall prioritize the provision of assistance under this subsection to economically disadvantaged communities (as defined by the Secretary under section 160 of the Water Resources Development Act of 2020 ( 33 U.S.C. 2201 note)), including economically disadvantaged communities located in urban and rural areas. .
