Sec. 507. Constructive service credit for certain officers of the Armed Forces

Section 572 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— by inserting before
(a)For the purposes ; and by adding at the end the following new subsection: The Secretary concerned shall credit a person who is receiving an original appointment as a warrant officer in the regular component of an armed force under the jurisdiction of such Secretary concerned, and who has advanced education or training or special experience, with constructive service for such education, training, or experience, as follows: For special training or experience in a particular warrant officer field designated by the Secretary concerned, if such training or experience is directly related to the operational needs of the armed force concerned, as determined by such Secretary concerned. For advanced education in a warrant officer field designated by the Secretary concerned, if such education is directly related to the operational needs of the armed force concerned, as determined by such Secretary concerned. . Not later than February 1, 2027, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and House of Representatives a report on the amendments made by subsection (a). Such report shall include— the evaluation of such amendments by the Secretary; the estimate of the Secretary regarding how many individuals are eligible for credit under subsection
(b)of such section, as added by subsection (a); and the determination of the Secretary whether existing special pay for such members is adequate.
