There is authorized to be appropriated not less than $20,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2022 through 2026 to carry out the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships Program of the Department to achieve the following purposes: Promoting the acquisition of critical language skills, including Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, and Russian, by students from the United States. Promoting the subsequent entry into the Department workforce of such students who are qualified applicants. Promoting diversity among participants and supporting the inclusion of a more diverse workforce at the Department.
