Sec. 2. Ensuring equitable treatment of items and services furnished by chiropractors under the Medicare program

Section 1861(r)(5) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1395x(r)(5) ) is amended— by striking for the purpose of sections 1861(s)(1) and 1861(s)(2)(A) and only ; by inserting , evaluation and management services (including examination and imaging services), and such other functions (not including the prescribing of drugs) after (to correct a subluxation) ; and by inserting , service, or function (as applicable) after such treatment . Section 1802(b)(6)(B) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1395a(b)(6)(B) ) is amended by striking paragraphs (1), (2), (3), and
(4)of . The amendments made by this section shall apply with respect to items and services furnished on or after the date that is 30 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.
