Sec. 5880. Support for Afghans applying for student visas

To be eligible as a nonimmigrant described in section 101(a)(15)(F) of the Immigration and Nationality Act ( 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(15)(F) ), a national of Afghanistan or a person with no nationality who last habitually resided in Afghanistan shall meet all requirements for such nonimmigrant status except they shall not need to demonstrate residence in Afghanistan or an intention not to abandon such residence. The exception under subsection
(a)shall apply beginning on the date of the enactment of this Act and ending on the date that is two years after the date of the enactment of this Act. The Secretary of Homeland Security, in consultation with the Secretary of State, shall periodically review the country conditions in Afghanistan and may renew the exception under subsection
(a)in 18 month increments based on such conditions.
