Sec. 1651. Report on missile defense interceptor site in contiguous United States

Not later than March 31, 2023, the Secretary of Defense, acting through the Director of the Missile Defense Agency, shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report containing— an updated assessment of the requirement for a missile defense interceptor site in the contiguous United States; and a funding profile, by year, of the total costs for the development and construction of such site, considering the designation of Fort Drum, New York, as the conditionally designated preferred site.
Of the funds authorized to be appropriated by this Act or otherwise made available for fiscal year 2023 for the Missile Defense Agency for unspecified military construction planning and design, not more than $5,000,000 may be obligated or expended for activities associated with a missile defense interceptor site in the contiguous United States described in subsection (a).
