Sec. 1612. Report on stratospheric balloons, aerostats, or satellite technology capable of rapidly delivering wireless internet

Not later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of the Air Force and the Secretary of State, in consultation with the Chief of Space Operations, shall provide a report to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, House Foreign Affairs Committee, Senate Armed Services Committee and House Armed Services Committee that identifies opportunities to deploy stratospheric balloons, aerostats, or satellite technology capable of rapidly delivering wireless internet anywhere on the planet from the stratosphere or higher.
The report shall identify commercial as well as options developed by the Department of Defense. Additionally, the report shall provide an assessment of the military utility of such opportunities.
