Sec. 1097. Availability of information regarding procurement of equipment by State and local governments through the Department of Defense

Section 281 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— by redesignating subsection
(d)as subsection (e); and by inserting after subsection
(f)the following new subsection: The Secretary, in coordination with the Administrator of General Services, shall establish and maintain a publicly available internet website that provides up-to-date and comprehensive information, in a searchable format, on the purchase of equipment under the procedures established under subsection
(a)and the recipients of such equipment. The information required to be made publicly available under paragraph
(1)includes all unclassified information pertaining to such purchases, including— the catalog of equipment available for purchase under subsection (c); for each purchase of equipment under the procedures established under subsection (a)— the recipient State or unit of local government; the purpose of the purchase; the type of equipment; the cost of the equipment; and the administrative costs under subsection (b); and other information the Secretary determines is necessary. The Secretary shall update the information included on the internet website required under paragraph
(1)on a quarterly basis. .
