Sec. 549. Review and report on administration of sexual harassment claims

The Secretary of Defense shall review the practices of the Department of Defense pertaining to the administration of sexual harassment claims. As part of the review, the Secretary shall— assess the efforts of the Department to prevent sexual harassment and protect members of the Armed Forces who submit sexual harassment claims; and compile data and research on the prevalence of sexual harassment in the military, including— the number of sexual harassment incidents reported; the number and percentage of such reports that resulted in the initiation of legal proceedings against the alleged perpetrator; and the number and percentage of such cases leading to convictions or other adverse action against the alleged perpetrator.
Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report on the results of the review conducted under subsection (a).
