Sec. 507. Survey of chaplains

The Secretary of Defense shall seek to enter into an agreement with a nonprofit entity or a federally funded research and development center to develop an anonymous survey of chaplains of the covered Armed Forces. The survey shall include questions regarding the following: Chaplain job satisfaction. The tools available for chaplains to minister to members of the covered Armed Forces. Resources available to support religious programs. Inclusion of chaplains in resiliency and wellness programs.
The role of chaplains in embedded units, headquarters activities. and military treatment facilities. Recruitment and retention of chaplains. Any challenges in the ability of chaplains to offer ministry services. The Secretary shall administer the survey not later than 180 days after development. Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit a report to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and House of Representatives on the findings from the survey.
The term covered Armed Force means the following: The Army. The Navy. The Marine Corps. The Air Force. The Space Force.
