Subsection
(c)of section 51301 of title 46, United States Code, is amended to read as follows: The immediate command of the United States Merchant Marine Academy shall be in the Superintendent of the Academy, who shall be appointed by the Secretary of Transportation and subject to the direction of the Maritime Administrator under the general supervision of the Secretary of Transportation. .
