Sec. 215. Study on shellfish habitat and seagrass, Florida Central Gulf Coast

Not later than 24 months after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall carry out a study, and submit to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Environment and Public Works of the Senate a report, on projects and activities carried out through the Engineer Research and Development Center to restore shellfish habitat and seagrass in coastal estuaries in the Florida Central Gulf Coast. In conducting the study under subsection (a), the Secretary shall— consult with independent expert scientists and other regional stakeholders with relevant expertise and experience; and coordinate with Federal, State, and local agencies providing oversight for both short- and long-term monitoring of the projects and activities described in subsection (a).
There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section $2,000,000, to remain available until expended.
