The Secretary is authorized to carry out a research study pilot program at 1 or more dams owned and operated by the Secretary in the North Atlantic Division of the Corps of Engineers to assess the viability of forecast-informed reservoir operations in the eastern United States. Not later than 1 year after completion of the research study pilot program under subsection (a), the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Environment and Public Works of the Senate a report on the results of the study pilot program.
