Sec. 6822. Report on implementation of Executive Order 13556, regarding controlled unclassified information

In this section, the term appropriate committees of Congress means— the congressional intelligence committees; the Committee on Armed Services and the Subcommittee on Defense of the Committee on Appropriations of the Senate; and the Committee on Armed Services and the Subcommittee on Defense of the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives. Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of National Intelligence and the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security, in coordination with the heads of other elements of the intelligence community, shall submit to the appropriate committees of Congress a report on the implementation by the intelligence community of Executive Order 13556 ( 44 U.S.C. 3501 note; relating to controlled unclassified information).
It is the sense of Congress that the National Security Council should accelerate the process of revising or replacing Executive Order 13556.
