Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Secretary of State, shall submit, to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and House of Representatives, a briefing containing the assessment of the Secretary of Defense of the feasibility, advisability, and considerations of expanding eligibility for the pilot program under section 589 of the William M.
(Mac)Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 ( Public Law 116–283 ; 10 U.S.C. 1791 note) to members of the Armed Forces who participate in an exchange visitor program under section 62.31 of title 22, Code of Federal Regulations, or successor regulation.
