Not later than September 30, 2023, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and House of Representatives a briefing containing the results of a study on how to increase participation of covered individuals in positions in the covered Armed Forces or Department of Defense and related to STEM. In this section: The term covered Armed Force means an Armed Force under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of a military department. The term covered individual means a female— member of a covered Armed Force; or civilian employee of the Department of Defense. The term STEM means science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
