Section 4423 of the Atomic Energy Defense Act ( 50 U.S.C. 2603 ) is amended— in subsection (a), by striking during each even-numbered year beginning in 2016 ; and inserting every four years beginning in 2025 ; in subsection (c)— by striking 2016 and inserting 2025 ; by striking 2019 and inserting 2029 ; and by striking determines— and all that follows and inserting determines are nonoperational as of September 30, 2024. ; in subsection (d)— by striking Not later than March 31 of each even-numbered year beginning in 2016 and inserting Not later than March 31, 2025, and every four years thereafter, ; by striking submitting during 2016 and inserting submitted during 2025 ; and by striking paragraph
(4)and inserting the following new paragraph: a description of the deactivation and decommissioning actions taken at each nonoperational defense nuclear facility during the period following the date on which the previous report required by this section was submitted. ; and in subsection (e), by striking 2026 and inserting 2033 .
