Subsection (a)(1) of section 1278 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 ( Public Law 116–92 ; 133 Stat. 1702; 22 U.S.C. 8606 note) is amended in the first sentence by inserting after to establish capabilities for countering unmanned aerial systems the following , including directed energy capabilities, . Subsection
(b)of such section is amended— in paragraph (3)(B), by inserting at the end before the period the following: , including directed energy capabilities ; and in paragraph (4), by striking $25,000,000 and inserting $40,000,000 . Subsection
(f)of such section is amended by striking December 31, 2024 and inserting December 31, 2026 .
