Sec. 1274. Report on use of social media by foreign terrorist organizations

Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of National Intelligence, in coordination with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense, shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a report on— the use of online social media platforms by entities designated as foreign terrorist organizations by the Secretary of State for recruitment, fundraising, and the dissemination of information; and the threat posed to the national security of the United States by the online radicalization of terrorists and violent extremists with ties to foreign governments or elements thereof, foreign organizations, or foreign persons, or international terrorist activities.
In this section, the term appropriate congressional committees means— the Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the House of Representatives; and the Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Foreign Relations, and the Select Committee on Intelligence of the Senate.
