Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General of the United States shall commence a study on the Arctic operations and infrastructure of the Coast Guard. The study required under subsection
(a)shall assess the following: The extent of the collaboration between the Coast Guard and the Department of Defense to assess, manage, and mitigate security risks in the Arctic region. Actions taken by the Coast Guard to manage risks to Coast Guard operations, infrastructure, and workforce planning in the Arctic. The plans the Coast Guard has in place for managing and mitigating the risks to commercial maritime operations and the environment in the Arctic region. Not later than 1 year after commencing the study required under subsection (a), the Comptroller General shall submit to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House of Representatives a report on the findings of the study.
