Section 223(a) ( 29 U.S.C. 3303(a) ) is amended— in paragraph (1)(C)— by amending clause
(ii)to read as follows: the role of eligible providers as a one-stop partner to provide access to employment, education (including apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs), and training services; ; in clause (iii), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; and ; and by adding at the end the following: assistance for students to be able to locate and apply for apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs. ; and in paragraph (2)— in subparagraph (J), by striking the period at the end and inserting , such as the development and maintenance of policies for the credentialing of adult educators who demonstrate effectiveness. ; by redesignating subparagraph
(M)as subparagraph (N); and by inserting after subparagraph
(L)the following: Strengthening the quality of adult education and family literacy programs in the State through support for improved credentials, program quality standards, and certification and accreditation requirements. .
