Section 167 ( 29 U.S.C. 3222 ) is amended— in subsection (d), by inserting be used for the 4-year period for which funds are provided under this section, and which may after which may ; in subsection (h)— in the heading, by inserting after ; funding obligation ; Funding allocation by striking From the and inserting the following: From the ; and by adding at the end the following: Funds appropriated and made available to carry out this section for any fiscal year may be obligated to any entity described in subsection
(b)during the period beginning on April 1 of the calendar year that begins during such fiscal year, and ending on June 30 of the following calendar year. Funds made available under this section for a fiscal year to any entity described in subsection
(b)shall be obligated and available for expenditure by such entity for the period beginning on July 1 of the calendar year that begins during such fiscal year, and ending on June 30 of the following calendar year, except that the Secretary may extend such period if the Secretary determines that such extension is necessary to ensure the effective use of such funds by such entity. ; and in subsection (i)(3)(A)(i), by striking 12 and inserting 8 .
