Chapter 45 of title 46, United States Code, is amended— in section 4502(f)(2) by striking certain vessels described in subsection
(b)if requested by the owner or operator; and and inserting vessels described in subsection
(b)if— requested by an owner or operator; or the vessel is— at least 50 feet overall in length; built before July 1, 2013; and 25 years of age or older; and ; in section 4503(b) by striking Except as provided in section 4503a, subsection
(a)and inserting Subsection
(a); and by repealing section 4503a. Nothing in this section or the amendments made by this section shall be construed to affect or apply to any alternative compliance and safety agreement entered into by the Coast Guard that is in effect on the date of enactment of this Act. The table of sections in chapter 45 of title 46, United States Code, is amended by striking the item relating to section 4503a.
