Of the amounts authorized to be appropriated under— section 4902(2)(A)(i) of title 14, United States Code, as amended by section 101 of this title, for fiscal year 2022— $300,000,000 shall be authorized for the acquisition of a twelfth National Security Cutter; and $210,000,000 shall be authorized for the acquisition of 3 Fast Response Cutters; and section 4902(2)(A)(ii) of title 14, United States Code, as amended by section 101 of this title, for fiscal year 2023— $300,000,000 shall be authorized for the acquisition of a twelfth National Security Cutter; and $210,000,000 shall be authorized for the acquisition of 3 Fast Response Cutters.
Any cutter acquired using amounts authorized under subsection
(a)shall be in addition to the National Security Cutters and Fast Response Cutters approved under the existing acquisition baseline in the program of record for the National Security Cutter and Fast Response Cutter. Of the amounts authorized to be appropriated under section 4902(2)(A)(ii) of title 14, United States Code— for fiscal year 2022, $350,000,000 shall be authorized for the acquisition of a Great Lakes icebreaker at least as capable as Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw (WLBB–30); and for fiscal year 2023, $20,000,000 shall be authorized for the design and selection of icebreaking cutters for operation in the Great Lakes, the Northeastern United States, and the Arctic, as appropriate, that are at least as capable as the Coast Guard 140-foot icebreaking tugs.
