Section 307(c) of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act ( 50 U.S.C. 3958(c) ) is amended— in the heading, by striking and inserting Misdemeanor ; Criminal penalties by striking all that follows so and inserting an em dash; and by adding at the end the following new paragraphs: shall be fined as provided in title 18, or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both; or after a prior conviction under this section has become final, shall be fined as provided in title 18, or imprisoned for not more than three years, or both. .
