It is the sense of Congress that the Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, in accordance with relevant provisions of law, should continue to manage the systems of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency that enable the FireGuard program of the Department of Defense. Not later than 120 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, in consultation with the Secretary of Defense and the heads of the departments and agencies of the United States Government and other organizations that constitute the National Interagency Fire Center, and any other relevant organization the Director determines appropriate, shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a coordinated interagency report that— explains how to leverage existing resources to improve processes and organization alignment; identifies future opportunities to improve the ability to detect and track wildfires and support firefighting efforts; and includes an explication of the relevant authorities with respect to the matters under paragraphs
(1)and (2). In this section, the term appropriate congressional committees means— the congressional intelligence committees; and the congressional defense committees (as defined in section 101(a)(16) of title 10, United States Code).
