Title I of the National Security Act of 1947 ( 50 U.S.C. 3021 et seq. ) is amended by inserting after section 116 the following new section (and conforming the table of contents at the beginning of such Act accordingly): For purposes of section 1344 of title 31, United States Code, the transportation of federally owned canines associated with force protection duties of an element of the intelligence community between the residence of an officer or employee of the element and various locations that is essential for the performance of the force protection duty shall be deemed essential for the safe and efficient performance of intelligence duties.
In the administration of section 1344 of title 31, United States Code, an officer or employee of an element of the intelligence community shall be treated as being listed in subsection (b). .
