In addition to amounts otherwise available, there is appropriated for fiscal year 2022, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, $300,000,000, to remain available until September 30, 2027, to the Maritime Administration for the purposes of making grants under the assistance for small shipyards program, as authorized by section 54101 of title 46, United States Code, to improve the climate resiliency and environmental sustainability of the maritime industry and maritime transportation system, including workforce training and equipment acquisition projects that improve the efficiency of shipyard operations, vessel construction and vessel repair.

(b)and paragraph
(1)of subsection
(f)of section 54101 of such title shall not apply to amounts made available in this section, and the Secretary of Transportation may carry out multiple rounds of competition.
