In addition to amounts otherwise made available, there is appropriated for fiscal year 2022, out of any funds in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, $8,000,000, to remain available until September 30, 2026, to the Secretary of Transportation to make a grant to a qualified institution of higher education to— operate a national highly automated vehicle and mobility innovation clearinghouse; collect, conduct, and support research on the secondary and societal impacts of highly automated vehicles and mobility innovation on the built environment; and disseminate and make such research available on a public website to assist communities.
