Sec. 31301. Additional support for distance learning

In addition to amounts otherwise available, there is appropriated to the Emergency Connectivity Fund established under subsection (c)(1) of section 7402 of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 ( Public Law 117–2 ) for fiscal year 2022, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, $300,000,000, to remain available until September 30, 2030, to provide support under the covered regulations promulgated under subsection
(a)of that section, except that that amount shall be used to provide support under the covered regulations for costs incurred after the date of enactment of this Act but before June 30, 2030, regardless of whether those costs are incurred during a COVID–19 emergency period (as defined in subsection
(d)of that section). None of the funds appropriated under subsection
(a)may be used to purchase, rent, lease, or otherwise obtain any covered communications equipment or service (as defined in section 9 of the Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act of 2019 ( 47 U.S.C. 1608 )).
