Section 249 of the Trade Act of 1974 ( 19 U.S.C. 2321 ) is amended— in subsection (a), by adding at the end the following: The authority under the preceding sentence includes the authority of States to require, by subpoena, a firm to provide information on workers employed by, or totally or partially separated from, the firm that is necessary to make a determination under this chapter or to provide outreach to workers, including the names and address of workers. ; and by adding at the end the following:
A State may enforce compliance with a subpoena issued under subsection (a)— as provided for under State law; and by petitioning an appropriate United States district court for an order requiring compliance with the subpoena. .
