Sec. 30214. Report on bilateral efforts to address Chinese fentanyl trafficking

Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of State and Attorney General shall submit to the appropriate congressional committees a written report detailing— a description of United States Government efforts to gain a commitment from the Government of the People’s Republic of China
(PRC)to submit unregulated fentanyl precursors such as 4–AP to controls; a plan for future steps the United States Government will take to urge the PRC to combat illicit fentanyl production and trafficking originating in the PRC; an assessment of the intersection between illicit fentanyl trafficking originating in China and illicit environmental trade and possible relationships of trade-based money laundering; an assessment of the intersection between illicit fentanyl trafficking originating in China and counterfeit medicines and medical supplies in the United States; and an assessment of the intersection between illicit fentanyl trafficking originating in China and the illicit fentanyl trafficked over the United States-Mexico border into the United States. The report required under subsection
(a)shall be submitted in unclassified form with a classified annex.
