The Director may transition the management of existing programs of the National Science Foundation that conduct activities in addition to basic research to the Directorate, including— Convergence Accelerator; Industry-University Cooperative Research Centers; National AI Research Institutes; Innovation Corps (I-Corps), as described in section 601 of the American Innovation and Competitiveness Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1862s–8 ); and any other programs that the Director considers appropriate.
