Title VII of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 ( 6 U.S.C. 341 et seq. ), as amended by this Act, is further amended by adding at the end the following new section: There is in the Department a Chief Security Officer, who shall report directly to the Under Secretary for Management. The Chief Security Officer shall— develop and implement the security policies, programs, and standards of the Department to protect the workforce and information; identify training and provide education to Department personnel on security-related matters; and provide support to Department components on security-related matters. .
The table of contents in section 1(b) of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, as amended by this Act, is further amended by inserting after the item relating to section 712 the following new item: Sec. 713. Chief Security Officer. .
