Sec. 749. Pilot program on sleep apnea among new recruits

The Secretary of Defense, acting through the Defense Health Agency, shall carry out a pilot program to determine the prevalence of sleep apnea among members of the Armed Forces assigned to initial training. The Secretary shall ensure that the number of members who participate in the pilot program under subsection
(a)is sufficient to collect statistically significant data for each military department. The Secretary may not disqualify a member from service in the Armed Forces by reason of the member being diagnosed with sleep apnea pursuant to the pilot program under subsection (a).
