It is the sense of Congress that— the Department of State should continue to promote the employment of veterans, in accordance with section 301 of the Foreign Service Act of 1980 ( 22 U.S.C. 3941 ), including those veterans belonging to traditionally under-represented groups at the Department; veterans employed by the Department have made significant contributions to United States foreign policy in a variety of regional and global affairs bureaus and diplomatic posts overseas; and the Department should continue to encourage veteran employment and facilitate their participation in the workforce.
