It is the sense of Congress that— the men and women of the United States Armed Forces performed heroically by securing Hamid Karzai International Airport and facilitating the evacuation of thousands of United States citizens; these servicemembers have executed the largest Noncombatant Evacuation Operation
(NEO)in United States history, saving the lives of thousands of men, women, and children; these servicemembers should be commended for their courageous and noble service to their country, having acquitted themselves in a manner that should make every American proud; and the service and lives of the 11 Marines, a sailor, and a soldier who gave their lives in service of this mission should be remembered for their valor and humanity, having made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their Nation.
