Sec. 1017. Availability of funds for retirement or inactivation of Ticonderoga class cruisers

Except as provided in subsection (b), none of the funds authorized to be appropriated by this Act or otherwise made available for fiscal year 2022 for the Department of Defense may be obligated or expended to retire, prepare to retire, inactivate, or place in storage a cruiser. Notwithstanding subsection (a), the funds referred to in such subsection may be obligated or expended to retire any of the following vessels: The USS Hue City (CG 66). The USS Vela Gulf (CG72). The USS Port Royal (CG 73). USS Anzio (CG 68).
